Jamaica is bordered about 322 km of coastline from the beach environment, including Seven Mile Beach in Negril. The high and low tide around the coast is said to never vary more than 41cm. Most of the area is over 300 m above sea level, and has a varied topography. The variety includes dense jungles biodiversity-carbon and and tropical forests, watersheds, rivers, stretches of distinct limestone formations, caves and mountain ranges. The Blue Mountain is the highest and most famous mountain range (2,256m above sea level), and well known for coffee farms with some distinguished aroma. The forest cover is about 31% of the land area, and home to some 406 animal species recorded (about 90 are endemic); and more than 3,300 species of vascular plants (about 900 of which are indigenous and endemic).
